About Me
I'm an Assistant Professor in the Space, Planetary, Astronomical Sciences and Engineering (SPASE) Department at IIT Kanpur. Before this, I was a Senior Research Engineer at the Onsala Space Observatory -- The Swedish national Infrastructure for Radio Astronomy -- operated by the Chalmers University. My interests are in Radio Astronomy, Radio Interferometry and developing antennas, analog and digital instrumentation for radio astronomy. I'm interested in Solar and Non-solar transients, and more closer to earth, the ionosphere and natural radio emissions. We are also starting to work on using signals around us to passively study moving objects :D I hold a PhD in astronomical instrumentation from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics.
Research
- Digital Receivers for Transients and VLBI Observations
- Metrology of big reflectors
- Space weather observations using Pulsars
- Developing radiometers to probe the atmosphere
- Detecting signatures of cosmic rays in radio wavelengths.
